Eastman Kodak Company was founded in 1892 by George Eastman and is headquartered in Rochester, New York. The Kodak name was trademarked in 1888 as a distinctive, memorable brand creation.

The company revolutionized photography with products such as the Brownie camera, roll film, and the famous slogan “You press the button, we do the rest.”

Throughout the 20th century, Kodak dominated the photographic film market. With the transition to digital photography, the company lost its leading position and filed for bankruptcy in 2012. Today, Kodak focuses on digital printing, commercial print, specialty chemicals, and film products for the motion picture industry.
